Practice Schedule

Practice time for Friday, April 1, has been changed. It will be at 4pm to 5:30pm. We will warm up with ball drills and the remainder of practice will be scrimmaging each other.

The week of April 11th, practice will be at Pacesetter Park from that point on. It will still be at the normal times, 5:00pm to 6:30pm. That Monday after Spring Break, April 11th, we have a JV game against Southview at 5pm at Pacesetter. We will be wearing white jerseys. JV be dressed and ready to go at 4:45. The Varsity will be having practice that day at 5pm at Pacesetter.

Columbus!

The Northview Lacrosse team will travel to Columbus on Friday, May 6 for games on Saturday, May 7. The team will be staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus-Polaris at 8411 Pulsar Place in Columbus. To make your reservations, call 614-885-8400 or visit their website at www.hamptoninnpolaris.com.

The hotel has plenty of rooms with two queens, but you will want to book any rooms right away to guarantee the team stays together in one hotel. Also, feel free to use Expedia, Hotwire, or Hotels.com to get your best rate.

2011 Northview Lacrosse Parent Meeting

NV Lacrosse Parents and Players,

We will be holding our 2011 NV Lacrosse parent/player meeting on Sunday, January 30th at 7:30pm in the Sylvania Senior Center. This meeting is scheduled for in between the JV and Varsity indoor games.

This is an important meeting because everyone must make a financial commitment by this meeting in order to have a spot on the spring team. Based on the number of players committed we may need to order additional uniforms, modify our schedules, etc.

The meeting will cover the following:

  • Registration and equipment orders will be taken
  • Payment of second (or first) pay to play fee. We need some form of payment from everyone by the time this meeting is over. Final Payment will be due by March 11ish.
  • Volunteer Sign-Up
  • Mulch Sale Information (how your player can play for “free”)
  • 2001 Varsity and JV schedules

Parents, I can’t stress to you enough how important this meeting is for our program. We are 100% funded by player fees so it’s critical that we know how many players will participate so that we can budget accordingly.

2011 Sylvania Northview High School Boys Lacrosse

October Information Meeting
Wednesday, October 13, 2010
 7 pm at the Sylvania Senior Center

Dear Parents & Players:

This is a mandatory player/parent meeting held to provide information about the upcoming season including pay to play fees, fundraising requirements, schedules and player expectations.

The cost to participate will be $400.  As in previous years, players will have the opportunity to pay for some (if not all) of these fees through fundraising efforts.

The first payment of $200 will be collected at this meeting. We will also be collecting fees for the 1st indoor session as well as taking orders from new players for helmets, game shorts and practice pinnies. These monies are used for field maintenance, team insurance, game referees, game jerseys, balls, nets, coaches’ pay, and several other miscellaneous items throughout the season.

Reminders from the Lacrosse Board

The Mulch Sale is under way. You should be selling mulch to everyone you know! This is our biggest fund raiser and everyone working together can help us build our bank account with funds to improve and expand our program. Terry McEwen would like as many of your orders as possible by April 1. Remember if you sell at least 200 bags, you will save yourself $200 in player fees.

Another fund raiser that Sylvania Lacrosse participates in is the Kroger Community Rewards Program. Once you sign up all you need to do is use your Kroger Card at Kroger’s and a percentage of your purchases will go to Sylvania Lacrosse. If you already shop at Kroger’s, this is an easy and helpful way to benefit the lacrosse program. Go to sylvanialacrosse.com, click on “Leaf News”, scroll down to “Kroger Rewards Program – Sign-Up Instructions”, and then follow the instructions.

Finally, on March 26 both teams will be traveling to Pickerington, Ohio. For this out of town, overnight trip, a player not traveling with at least one parent must room with another family. There must be a parent in every room.

Northview Lax Parent Meeting CHANGED

The Parent Meeting has been changed from March 18 to Monday, March 22 at 7:30 PM. The meeting will be at the Retirement Community Center behind the businesses in Mayberry. (Go past the Mayberry Diner bear right and take the second left.)

We will need all families to sign up to help at one of the three team dinners or the end of the year picnic.

The dates for the events are:
1. Wednesday, March 24, Italian Dinner at Mehling’s
2. Wednesday, April 21, Mexican Dinner at Hojnacki’s
3. Tuesday, May 4, at Powlesland’s
4. End of year picnic—possibly 1st week in June.

Please respond to Lisa McEwen by Saturday, March 13th which you prefer, otherwise we will assign you to one of the events.
